If on the first run of the game, you may encounter a warning message about DirectX Versions.
You can obtain the latest copy of DirectX from Microsoft Here

"Update Required" even after update

To make sure you are always running the latest install file, always get the installer from the Official The Far Reaches of Space site.Sometimes when you have installed to one directory, uninstalled, then installed to a new directory, the installer tries to update the old installation. To fix this, uninstall everything and reinstall to the original location.

Connectivity Issues:

When prompted by your operating system, be sure to enable access to the internet for this application. Far Reaches of Space uses http for all of it's data transfer.

Running the Game:

View Options Menu:

After you click "Enter the Universe", the game will automatically seek out and prompt you to download all game updates that have occurred since the last time you were in the game.
